Dota 2

Tristan Kiefer

My name is Tristan Kiefer, and I am the carry player for Sinister 5's Dota 2 team.
I started gaming when I was about 8 and built my own PC so I was able to play games like Warcraft and Age of Empires. When I started playing Dota 2, I would often match up against some of the bests such as Adastam and RDK. This fueled my need for the competitive side of Dota 2.
On my off days I enjoy hiking, reading and just chilling with my friends.

Adam Moore

I'm Adam Moore, but my ingame name is Adastam. I live in Cape Town, South Africa.
I'm no beginner when it comes to gaming, I started way back when I was around 4 or 5 years old on a good old Nintendo.
I was introduced to DotA for the first time in 2006, but I only ever played it casually with friends until around 2013 when I started playing Dota 2. I think Dota 2 is a super addictive and exciting game. Each match is completely different to the next and forces you to adjust accordingly. The unique set of skills each Hero has keeps me captivated and what else more is there to say other than 'Dota for life'. When I was painting a recreational center for the underprivileged I even made sure that I painted ``Dota 4 life`` on my shirt so everyone could see while I helped paint. So, you might say Dota is my bae!
Don't worry, Dota 2 is not all I do, I'm also a MASSIVE fan of tabletop board games. I could easily spend days with friends playing all sorts of them. Most of my other hobbies just include playing other computer games casually.

Dirk van Velden

My name is Dirk and I'm the proud offlaner for Sinister 5.
I started gaming as a kid on an old SNES, and I've been hooked ever since. I now go by the ingame name 'skynet'.
I started my casual Dota 2 life in 2012, and started playing competitively around 2013. I enjoy Dota 2 because there are always aspects that you can aim to improve on and the competitive nature of the game is extremely exciting. Other than Dota 2, I really enjoy camping with my family. We enjoy camping around some of Africa's most secluded destinations.

Tertius de Bruin

I'm Tertius de Bruin, 23 years old and currently studying BSc Physics at Tuks.
I've been playing Dota 2 for about 5 years in total. I am a very competitive person and I think that's why I enjoy Dota 2 so much.
Sinister 5 is not just another MGO to me, they're my eSports family. I go to our managers with all sorts of problems and they're always there to help. I am very lucky to be a part of this wonderful family and hope to contribute as we all rise to our full potential in becoming one of the greatest teams!

Dennis Connellan

My name is Dennis, I'm the captain and position 5 support for the Sinister 5 Dota 2 team!
I started gaming when I was around 9 years old, moving on to play games such as Warcraft 3 and DotA Twilight when I was 12.
I enjoy Dota 2 because it feels purposeful. Everything I do in it has attached meaning, more than anything else I've done in life. My heart and soul feel somehow interwoven with it. I have a strategically inclined mind which fits exceptionally well with what I hope to achieve in gaming, specifically Dota 2.
I enjoy writing and reading in my off time. I'm also very committed to exercising every day.

Tiaan de Beer

My name is Tiaan de Beer, but I'm known as Sly. I play as Sinister 5's reserve. I was born in Bloemfontein and attended Grey College and now study at UFS.
I started gaming since I could remember picking up a controller and playing Mario. I started playing DotA with friends when I was in Grade 9. It was always casual until I went to University, that's when it got a bit more serious.
I enjoy Dota 2 for a number of reasons; mainly because it's an intricate game, how rewarding it is to rise above the game's insane learning curve, the challenge of playing at a high skill level, and the game's beautiful balance and design. My other hobbies include videography, photography, soccer and some writing.
